Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Audi-RSQ (low Poly)


::RULES::
Polylimit: 5000 polies(triangle) with wheels and other stuff and textured also
Car: Your choice (Old models are not accepted)
Textures: Max resolution 1024x1024, multiple textures allowed (also reflection map, diffuse color (the texture itself), reflectivity map, bump map, normal map, specular map, gloss map, opacity map and self illumination map)

No matter what program you use.

Closing Date: 03/03/06

thanks user added image i still need to do the uvmap , ( i suck at it btw ) and then i have to make the textures:headbang: and try and get the renders right LOL my first go at textureing was bad and the renders looked like a cartoon user added image

if anyone had any idea on how to get the shutlines done in photoshop but have my car paint showing please post ( i use maya 6.0 if it makes a diff)

if i should use a png with an alpha channel and it should show the paint if i use a layered shader , am i right anyone ??

Not looking bad, I agree with Matt. The wheels don't look right, I can't see why.

I would also suggest going around and doing a bit of normals smoothing.

i have done al lthe normals smoothing i can , all hte hard edges are ment to be hard as they are sharp on the car

that is the newest one , i tryd a few otheres but they been taking hrs to render so i had to stop them donno what the problem is user added image

What is the spec on your pc, it shouldn't take that long.

Have you done a scene optimize and deleted the history?

i got an AMD 1800 + with 768 mb ram and a gforce 5 gcard user added image

i havent deleted the history yet user added image allways forget to do that hehe
