Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Alright, i pieces together the gun again, and this is what it looks like, its not a finalized render though, and as i was fitting all the stuff into the gun (yep, its all in there) i figured out a small area i have to tweak.. i will do it later . As for texturing, do you think i should uv map ALL of the model? Seeing that some of it i could just use textures (eg. The metal parts). Also, should i combine the whole half of the gun and then texture it, or do it one piece at a time?

Hey guys, I wanted to try if i could make it look like a cartoon user added image. Tell me what you think C&C welcome.

BTW, this is the basic colors of what i want it to look like, of course the shell will have a camoflauge look to it, as well as most things will look realistic user added image.

Heh, cool hey? Well i downloaded a shader called toonlight, now stupid me didnt pick up on what the shader was trying to say... it emits a light that adds really crisp edges to everything and flattens things out. So, i thought it was limited to 2 colors at first.. i figure out later that you just create pongs of ANY color and put them on the designated faces of your model (kinda like paint the numbers) and then with this toonlight just put into your hypershade (you get some kinda gizmo in the viewport) then render it out. You can get this toonlight from highend3d.com user added image. (for some reason im bringing this site up a lot.. hopefully thats ok user added image)

I will find out for you khaavren, one sec user added image..... :O

28,000 polys.

I could probably bring that down.. im going to delete some of the things that hog up tons of polys and let you know what its general count is (even though that doesnt count user added image).

23,000 polys.

anyways, the top one is the official polycount user added image.. sorry guys for not getting on this project.. i have been hanging around at the battle forums for a LONG time.. I am in the tournament right now and doing stuff over there.. nnce i have free time i really want to texture this gun user added image.
