learning maya

can anybody tell me a book or dvd that is simple and can teach me maya to beginner to advanced and it cant be something i can only buy online

When I first started using maya, the free tutorials on this page were a huge help, I'd suggest checking out some of the free tutorials, Frankie, Dog... they'll be a huge help to you in learning the basics and then some. It's a lot to grasp at first but it's so much easier to grasp than Blender.
