got it!

yeah, just received my seat of maya 4.5 today.
(FedEx was here yesterday but I didn't have the 350 euros import tax...) now that was quick! (placed the order last thursday)

now I'm waiting for the license key...

I didn't know you can't even fire it up without.
Strangely the manual did mention to enter the serial number, which I don't have; searched the whole package over and over.
So I e-mailed my hardware ID to a|w.

Is this normal procedure? Or am I supposed to have a serial number? Where can I find it? (I ordered maya directly from at the a|w online store)

But anyway, the box goes very well with my office interior (red walls, the desk and shelves are covered with black leather; a perfect match) user added image

*sigh*

still waiting for my serial number...

I called a|w yesterday, and again today. No serial number yet.

How long did it take for all of you to get the serial number?

philip: who are you mailing your hardware ID to? when i did mine I mailed it straight to my reseller (techex in the uk) and they sent me my license file within the hour. if you ordered it straight from A|W then obvioulsy disregard what I'm saying, but if it was from a reseller you might have better luck mailing them as I believe they have access to the A|W reseller extranet which will supply the keys.
either way good luck - I'm sure todays mental ray news makes you even happier with your purchase user added image

hey kal, you're right: that mental ray thing is pretty cool.

I ordered maya straight from the a|w online store. they delivered rather quick (within 4 days!), only now I can't even fire it up (which is a bugga). I used the www.aliaswavefront/spar/ page to send my H/W ID but I haven't heard from them yet. Plus I've been told I would get a serial number by a|w via email...

...not that I would have had time to play with it yet, but even not being able to load it kinda sucks. Oh well, just another patience training... = )

and thanks for your reply
