Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Character (nudity) (head on page 2)

Ok I have decided to port my skills over to character design so here a shot of my first character based off reference from www.3d.sk

joined the leg to the body, some sorting to do though where the backside meets the leg

hands are in progress now then feet and then I can spend a while consentrating on the head

thanks, the back was a happy mistake looking back over these images I think I need to redefine the shoulder blades

well got some basic hands on I need to add more detail into them like the knuckles and round the figers off but this is basically how they look

Reworked the hand today I noticed the fingers were a little long and the overall shape of the hand was off

it's looking great so far......first character model????.....WOW....anyways....great job.....my first character didn't look half that good...lol.....could you post some wires of the body with all the parts attached? (are they attached yet?)........i'm also looking forward to seeing you start the head....keep up the good work

thanks for the comments, yes it is my first character model, I have been using Maya for about a year now but stuck mostly to cars so its just a case a using the knowledge to stick it into a person

All the parts are attached apart from the toes I just need to build the foot

Seems my hosting is down also, hopefully it will be back up later today
