USB problems

I just reinstalled windows but none om USB devices are working
Ive reinstalled drivers, updated them, reverted to old ones ect
but nothing works user added image

If the front ones aren't working, maybe you accidently pulled them out ... but as you said you just reinstalled windows, im not sure.

The only way i worked this out was to get the CD from the motherboard not windows, and installed that.

Mine has also recently don this, I think I am going to get a new USB PCI card to try and fix the problem.

You may have to do the same thing if other options don't work.

Does the port have power?

Does plugging in something like a pen drive result in its LED lighting up?

when ever i plug in a pen drive my pc freezes up and nothing happens

when i plug in my Graphics tablet it doesnt light up but my pc knows SOMETHING is plugged in but it doesnt know what

OK, my Windows knowledge is a bit rusty (its slowly getting erased by Linux), but in the Device Manager, are there entries for the USB controller(s) under the System category?

This issue sounds like a drivers problem. I have had similar issues with my USB Tablet before, and getting the latest drivers helped.

If you are getting issues with a pen drive, which should work by default, I suggest getting hold of XP SP2 and installing it. I know you may have a copy of Xp with SP intigrated, but applying a service pack can resolve issues like this. Other than that please install SP3.
