DJ, I think that a standard camera setting. Check focal length too, it should be 35.

Ok, some minor tweaks around the eyes, nose and lips.

The eyes in the test render looks like crap though. Like they dont belong there, oh well, guess I have to spend more than 5 minutes setting up the materials :p

The front of the nose ridge is very sharp looking, perhaps round it off a bit to soften the looks

Hey Jango, yep, I saw that too after uploading the pic.

The big question for now is how the eye is placed in the "hole" in the head. Are they pointing straight forward or rotated a bit? And how big is the whole eyeball. When shaping the area round the eye to get the eyelids and under the eye to shape around the eye, I think I get a too deep "hole" on the inner side... the one to the nose... any thoughts about this?

Hey DJ

Yeas these are good points. What I tend to do is, get a profile pic of Natalie or who ever and create a sphere in the eye area and scale it until the edge of the sphere is pretty much the same as the eye in the pic, then you can adjust the eye socket/lids accordingly. Remember though that a heads' width is generally 5 eyes across, as a rule. Hope this helps

Thanks for the tip, Jango, will try that.

Did the ears, it looks almost exactly as my reference from the side view, harder to tell if it's good from other angles. I think it looks good though, just some small tweaking to get it smoother. The lobe might be a little pointy I see now.

Yeah the ears are taking shape nicely. Make them a bit more fleshy but overall they're looking good, they're not theeasiest thing to model-ever

Some small changes on the nose and lips. I know there are some small flaws but can anyone see some big ones?

Yeah, an immediate no, no is the bridge of the nose its really sharp there it should almost be flat, the ears look too small and the neck is too thin in profile view, I'll keep looking...ohh the jaw bone is not angled enough, it needs the L shape and also the back of the nostril needs to line up with the edge of the lips, think of a staight line from the front of the forehead going down behind the nostrils to the edge of the lips

Thanks for the input Jango, very good critisism. Although I don't understand what you mean about the L-shape of the jaw, and the thing about the alignment from the forehead to the lips. Enlighten me!

Hey DJ

Glad you are cool with all that, I have drawn on what I think are enough fixes for now. Sorry if it seems to go on and on, I just like people to get their stuff right and be really proud of what they can achieve and also become aware of mistakes that can be made, I have been known to make some bad mistakes believe me, I just never posted stuff. Its all about observation.

Anyway the faint yellow line is what I mean

If you look at the jaw its like a soft 'L' mirrored either side

I've been playing with vertices and now the whole head except around the ear and the ear is quads. Also changed some stuff, think it looks a little better now. Have to do something about the eyebrow area for starters.... it is not looking good
