Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

I will also be posting shaders and tips to create a better car in here.

Thanks

well its only a learning tool, the reason I chose to create the tutorial with this car is that it presents challanges like the front and rear air vents and also detailled areas like the head light, if it was just a bog standard bumper with a number plate inset then it doesn't have quite the same learning effect.
Hopefully people will use the knowledge and go onto create better and different cars

Plus it also gets the 360 out of their system user added image

I am currently working on a vauxhall (opel) corsa and a ford focus for an animation so its not all flashy cars

I have a question. Aren't the side view mirrors supposed to be attached to the frame of the car instead of the window? I may be looking at it wrong.

Assuming I have no points, how much does this full tut cost in GBP£? Also is it integrated into parts? The last time I tried downloading a tut, it went 'tits up' so to speak.

Well the DVD costs £51.88. I am not sure how much the downloadable one is but it should be somewhere around there possible its less than that as your also paying for the p+p with the DVD. The download is split up into 26 parts but two parts still remain to be uploaded

Looks pretty good for a Maya car...

although not as detailed as Mr. Shaddix's Modena here:

Anyway, I might just as well buy the tutorial... I will probably learn something. I usually prefer modeling cars in Lightwave even though Maya is my primary application.

Eep, didn't realise there was a thread already about this one (one by the tutorial-maker himself nontheless), and there I went making my own. Hehe, sorry about that.. :o Remember seeing this one, but also remembered (incorrectly) that it was in the finished work area, since sspikedudley posted his finished pictures here user added image
