Minority Report - Department of Precrime LOGO (+3d image)

Hi!

Here's my finished work of the "Department of Precrime - District of Columbia" Symbol used in Minority Reportuser added image.

I think only the font is improvable, but I haven't found the right one anywhere. If you know the name of the right font used in the original logo, please tell meuser added image.

Regards

Markuz

I guess I've worked on it about 6 hours or so...

Ok, then I think I'll create a short Tut soon. Not today, becuse I'll have a test tomorrowuser added image. But to be able to follow the tut, you can prepare yourself by downloading the "create-tube" (not really nessesary) and "bevel-plus" mel script at highend3d.com...

Ah.. BTW: The Logo can be seen on the inside of the booklet of the (superb) Soundtrack from the movie.

The lightening can also be improved! Any suggestions?

Hi!

Well, I do not know, if you are aware of the look of the original Logo, but it is really all in one colour. But I used 2 shaders, one rough (e.g. background) and a glossy one (e.g. for the letters)...
Any other suggestions about the lightening probably?

You could try to give it some kind of moody lighting. I haven't seen the movie so I don't know... How about some interesting reflections on the surface?

Oh, I haven't seen the Minority Report yet. I didnt know the logo was plain.

user added image But I have a tip regarding the NURBS aspect of this model. I saw this right now. The tesselation should be set to double or more, as the rings in you model have a slightly distinctive look of being edgy. One can see edges. user added image

Thanx for the tipps. I'll set the tesslation of the wavy rings up a bit, they're really edgyuser added image.

um... there is still edges to be seen on the two outermost rings, but the inner-ring has improved!

In this small model dont be shy to push tesselation to 4, 6 or even 12+.

The tesselation setting must be set by each object/surface, I think. Please tell me if this is wrong guys.
