Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Looks good, but have you tried rendering with IBL in MR?

Could you explain to me what "IBR" is in MR? I have heard of using HDRI images but not IBR. Also thank you guys for the responses.

IBL is in the Mental ray section. Scroll down to it and open it up. It will have a create button. Click that and you should get a yellow Environment sphere or cube appear in ya scene. Open its attribute editor and load an image for it. Then scroll down to the Emit light section, and hit tick box. Do a render and see what happens. Obviously the render times are going to depend on the usual settings, you know res etc. The results are excellent!!

Good luck

Update

here is an update with some shader manipulation, and a couple of more tweaks to the frame. I decided to render this one in the Software Renderer.
It took me a while to find out why I couldn't find IBL. It is in version 6 and I am using v5.

Thanks for the comments and the advice is appreciated.

Hey Gaming Proverbs

Sorry about the IBL thing, I use version 6 now so I kind of take it for granted that everyone else does too. Stupid really!!!

Looks good...I like the shader you used.

Check out some reference shots of other porsches...I have a feeling that there is something along the lines of a lip on the rear rims. Keep it up man.

I see what you are saying about the mudguard over the back wheel. There looks like there is a dent on the top. Thanks for the comment. As for the shader, it is just a ramp shader with some tweaking. Thanks for the comments.
