This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Hi all,
I've just finished this character of a gargoyle. The image is a still taken from an test anim using Maya and After Effects. I'll upload the anim when I'm happy with it. user added image

Wow, wonderful render you have there? And this is an animation... i would love to see it! By the way, was the shadows done in a single render, are the flames made in maya or in after effectsand how long have you been modelling user added image. Really good user added image

Thanks all, much appreciated! Yeah... the shadows where all done in a single pass. The fire was a series of flames comped together in After Effects to form a circle, which was scaled and translated as a 3D layer, then comped onto the maya renders.
M, ... I've been modeling/ animating/ texturing for five years now. I love it, always something new to learn!

Hi bradley,

the animation looks really great... user added image

however the background looks a bit flat compared to the rest of it... user added image

but a very cool animation... or should I say Hot... user added image

You gotta teach me how to do the fire in that method! Excelent job with that, I wish you could sho me how to use after effects as good as you do. I agree with strarup too the BG compared to everything else looks kinda boring or flat, not to say you did a bad job, its just relative to you're stunning FG.
