thanks john.., i did a bit more.., plus experimented with some layer passes and such with the layer tuts i got here at SM.

i did a multiple render pass (getting my money's worth from combining the tuts) and put it in PS.., i think i did some screen, overlay and multiply and this is what came out as a first go.., no shaders have been assigned to the model yet.., only the default shaders from the render layers.

there is lens distortion but ill fix that with the focal length next time i post.

The renders are looking nice ...it looks like you still need to merge a few verts on the inside of at least one turret.

couldnt help it.., i merged the verts and went back into PS and used a number of render passes.., not too good at it yet but its an art in itself..,

Mirek it looks like you might need to soften the Normals to to stop the faceted shadows inside the arches.

cell shaded..?? yea it does now you mention it.., wasnt what i wanted.., it was just a sort of 'have a go' at the render layers and i didnt bother to feather or adjust the boundaries of the mask.

john, you mean on the whole model?? ill do it to the windows for now
