Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Hi,

this is starting to look nice. Main things for me which throw the scale off a bit are the scale of the fabrics on the carpet and rug (I know you've dealt with these previously, but I think they're still too large), and the cables from the back of the TV which appear too thick.

I know you're still working on the modelling, but I think a sense of atmosphere/dust would be really cool here user added image

Good shout on the cables. I had scaled the TV unit down but must have missed the cables.

Leaving the carpet and rug until I am done - again with the lighting as well. I think there is going to be a lot of back and forth with these things and want everything else out the way.

Right - going around the room and sorting things out as I come to them - starting with the TV unit. Checked all scales now, moved the games and pads around and corrected the leads. Then I noticed a load of my gamma corrections were not working and fixed them. Happy with the look under this lighting so moving on to the cupboard. Quite abit of modeling need here so will be glad to get it done.

Another quick update (very fast after turning off the fur hehehe)

user added image

Things added :
T-Shirts, Jumpers, Hangers, Speaker cables, and Spiderman. (Also tweaked the base for IronMans Helmet)

Things needing fixing or adding:
Still need to add some shoes and things in the boxs.
Need more cloths on rail - and fix the uniform spacing look I have going on.
Fix the blue jumper on top going though the one below in the upper area.
I think TV and xbox are too reflective.
Shader on speaker need a lot of work.
Jumper may need some more thickness to it.

Added the jumper to the front of the doors as it was a big area of empty space and I have a strong bug bare of posters on doors.

The room is based on real world scale. Based on my room at my dads house. Had the plans of the room as we just had it done out.

Cupboard Doors, TV, TV unit, storage boxes and XBox are all made to scale. Most of the others items are made based of these scales. Lost track a few times with the scale of things (the TV unit used to be way off). I am thinking the draws and bed maybe a little off but will get to that as I am going around the room.

OK - Got the shader on the TV and Xbox toned down.

Filled the cupboard up with more cloths, shoes and boxes.
Also played with the jumper.

As I thought the scale of this was way off - fixed that the CD player and the books. Added the textures, Lamp, and the radiator.

Happy with the results apart from the corner of the unit - some how the side bit of the UV map went above the top right coner (the light area you can see) - fixed that now but not rendered. Also lowered the reflection.

Also some how messed up the fur settings - but going to leave until I am done, so plz get pretend its not there for now :-)

Been playing around with these all night and think I am happy with the levels now.
Looking at the cupboard door I do have light passing though them but still hides for the most part the window details look at the window in shot - which is what the level I was looking for.

Bed sheets time.

Small progress with the bed.

Second image has bed sheet on it but that and the pillows are gone as I am not happy with them. Shaders on headphones also need a lot of work.

Looking very good! Is amazing how much stuff we have in our rooms. Once you put all the stuff in your scene it becomes so much more believable.

Looking forward to the final renders.user added image
