Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

im finally back :D

alrighty... its time for me to make my maya return!!!
after 6 months of inactivity (blame it on my car), im coming back to SM and starting to work in maya again.
Finally got a computer that is worthy of maya user added image
Apple G5 Dual 1.8ghz with 2GB of Ram
and a 19" LG monitor

Its coming in a week... and i can't wait to be able to use maya again!! I have been running maya on my imac g3 700mhz... and it doesn't run too well.. lol. Sorry.. just a little excited about getting a new computer, and being able to use maya againuser added image

I'm planning on doing the same and using maya and SM more when i get me new PC on Thursday. It's already sitting in the living room but i have to wait untill my birthday on thursday to open it.

Yeah it was one of my favourite projects i've seen here at SM and just as it was coming together it just disapeared.

ya.. we all got pretty busy... and all of our computers suck.. well at least hybrid and mine..
i have a car that is only half done, but its modelled exactly like the car that i have in real life user added image

wahoo!!
got the g5 today
i went with the dual 2ghz model with 1.5 of ram user added image
i chose this one because it has the better video card, and more speed.. lol

now to install maya on the new machine and test this baby out!

just a radeon 9600 pro for now
ill get the 9800 pro a bit later

the dual 1.8 comes with a nvidea fx5200.. and that one sucks

Got mine today, i haven't got maya on it yet but it seems quick and i was able to play hitman contracts with all the effects and textures at maximum and still play smooth.
