lecturers didnt really have a problem with it as i bought a student license, and could still apply most of the max sessions to maya anyway (same principals, different way of achieving it). no it isnt just games, or at least it wasnt last year. I guess with it being max based alot of the students are going to want to get into games as its just about the only part of the industry that still has a plenty of jobs going (at least down here), and the uni has a few links with games companys too.
