Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Dynamics and Polygons

I am trying to create a wall crubling using a shatter effect. My wall is made of polygons, but for some reason, when I make the shatter effect on it, nothing happens. With a nurbs object i have no problem. Is it possible to do this with polygons?
Thanks

if i understand this correctly the shatter doesnt acutally do anything to the polys except to break it up into individual shards...to have the pieces actually move you could try applying a force to them...because you want them to crumble...im thinking you might wanna try applying a gravity field on the plane to pull downwards on the shards...

...hope that helped.
