camera x-axis problems

switching between maya 2009 and 2008, and vice versa, I have a rather annoying problem.

when i open the project, everything in my viewport is rotated exactly 90 on the x-axis.

this is particularly annoying with rigging and meshes, because pivot points are all over the place. so its a bitch to move everything back to where it is suppose to be.

any thoughts?

thanks

i figured out the solution, in prefrences, i set up axis to y, instead of axis z.which is where it was.
