How to slide edges in opposite directions to each other

Hello Guys!

I am fairly new to Maya and I was wondering if there's a way to move the edges in different directions to each other(slide it) without tweaking each one of the edges personally ??
I am sorry if the answer too obvious but still... I am in the learning phase (Or the modelling phase)user added image
Please take a look at the screenshot, the highlighted edges need to move relatively away from each other.

The Modeling Toolkit has the "Transform Constraint" option. You can select to constrain along the surface or edge and just scale the edges to your liking.
