UV layout problem

Started laying out some UV's this evening and have the problem as shown in the pic. Most of it is fine but i'm seeing some large black areas on the model. I'm thinking it's a graphics card issue, anyone got any ideas? I applied a file texture to the model and that's working fine. Just makes laying the UV's out a little more dificuilt with those black areas.

hmm, that's unusual. Are you certain the checker has been applied to those faces? Perhaps reapply the material to the entire model to make sure.

Thanks Mike. i shut down the machine last night with the issue still there. Loaded the scene file this morning and everything is working fine. No black areas, so yeah, i guess the checker was applied to the whole model. Not sure what caused it but i'm in the market for a new higher endvideo card anyway. At least i have a solution until then.
