Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world

Easiest way for something like that is simply the line tool (set to fill pixels). Draw each line on a separate layer (especially if you intend to duplicate and invert each line to create an 'inset' effect). You could use the line tool to create your boxes with the rivets (duplicate/rotate the same line to create a box then merge the four layers). Or, just use the marquee tool to create a square selection and apply a stroke to it.
