Battle Request

TO: a maya user of intermediate skill

Subject: Architectural/ Room design... etc.

Goal: To create a photorealistic interior scene that looks like the awesome VRay renders those Maxers do. But it has to be done all inside Mental Ray

Time Limit: 4 Weeks (countdown starts when the battle thread is created and the opposer replies)

Requirements: You have to do all of the modeling and texturing on your own. No downloading objects and using them. AND NO CONVERSION TO 3DS MAX TO RENDER!!!!!!!!!! THAT WOULD BE CHEATING!!!! The whole point is to acheive that effect with Mental Ray in Maya.

Limits: Hey, if your computer doesnt crash, its fine.

Textures: As many as you like, just keep in mind that the more textures you have and the higher their resolutions, that means that the amount of RAM it takes during render is higher.

I am saying all this stuff about crashing and ram because most people dont have like 2-4 gb of ram and many of these super photorealistic renders take hours to render and have a nasty tendancy to crash. Just a precaution.

Anyway, thats my request, so pleez respond soon.

I think I'll go for it. I've never modeled anything organic, so I think this is a good chance for me to practice user added image

How about this:

To anyone Moderate-advanced at modeling

Subject: Photorealistic Car

Modeling- Preferably Polys, but if you really want to do it in NURBS go ahead

PolyCount- Try to keep it under 1,000,000,000,000,000 tris user added image :p

Time limit- when someone replies, I will create a thread and we wll start then- and the limit would be a month.

Anyone up for it?

lol, i suck at that, but if your desperate i can try, but its your choice, being that i have been in a fair amount of contests with you, and its kinda annoying having the same person contest you each time, lol.... your choice.....
