Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

bump mapping graininess

I've applied a very basic bump map to a model (just grey with a few smoothed black lines through it) and whenever I do a quick render the surface looks like it has grainy marks over it.
I did the bump image as a .tga (targa) file on 24 and 32 bit. Is it ok to use that format?
I'll post an image up later to show you what I mean.

no worries, the bump was set at a stupidly high amount and was causing the individual variations in contrast pop out.
