Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

saving selections

Hi.

Is there any way, after tediously picking/selecting faces, vertices, etc.., to then save that selection and regain that selection later on, rather than having to pick through them again?

Perhaps it's not possible, since changing the geometry would then alter the existence of those selections?

Thanks.

Well the answer is yes, you can save selection sets. Once you make your selections, you save your set in the menu item Create>sets>set.

However, you are correct in that if you make a set of vertices or polys, and then change the models, your sets may become invalid.

I hope this helps.
