Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

eye Rendering/refraction not working right

hey guys,
problem with realistic eye rendering here.
I get the eye to render out pretty nicely using mental ray in Maya in the front view.

For the side view, it's not good because there's no refraction where the eye color refracts onto the lens. Instead, I'm getting a flat eye color then a clear lump in the front.

TO fix that, I'm suppose to use Raytracing refraction to emulate a water like refraction. when I do, I the refraction works, but it increases the size of my pupils so much that it covers up my eye color. All you get is the black pupil.

I've screen capped the settings, let me know what I did wrong.
Thanks.

The settings for the shader for the water/transparant surface is much more interesting .. this is where stuff can go wrong..
