Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Female Android

I thought i would do my take on a female android, i haven't bothered a concept sketch because i wanted to concept it at block out and i kinder sorta know what i want.
I have many references of a female from 3Dsk but because of copyright issues i will turn them off for renders and captures ect..just know there are ref planes on hidden layers.

not sure i am keeping the hair yet, i had this idea for metal hair i'm now going to try a few options and see which i like.
just going to quickly UV the front face and throw on a basic texture to get and idea if the split face concept works.

Looking good so far. I think the eyelids and the underside of the nose could use some attention though.

Thanks Next ..you're right of course. Its always a dilemma as to how accurate and realistic a face should be on an artificial being, do i make her photo real as a human but with a split face ? or do i make her slightly flawed because she is artificial and its imaginary hard to create a realistic human? I am not sure , but in the finished result i want her to real enough to be slightly creepy.
The nose in particular is proving to be a little tricky since there is no extra geo surrounding it and a nose never looks right out of context as it were ..lol
I do agree it they both need some work though.

looking great, love the concept.
i agree wih Next for me the nose lets it down, it makes it look a little too fake for me. and i think the mouth area could use a little more shape.

looking forward to seeing more of this

the more I Think I know about Maya the less I seem to know about it.

It looks too bulbously to me. Most female androids have cute button noses. (Even the killer ones; go figure)

I was thinking the same thing lol it does match the ref image though, i might use some artist license and just make it thinner. I thought a nose attached to face was tricky but when its floating alone its way harder to make it look good.

Oh not sure what you mean cgisoul about valley feel,at the risk of minor offence do all valley girls have bolbous noses or something?

That's uncanny valley. Although it's generally not a positive thing.
