Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I am working with Maya 5.0 unlimited I am also living in rural Arkansas with the attendant problems of dial up. I am working with a realistic human poligon model and would like to gain some understanding of the texture editor and uv mapping. Could anyone please give me an idea how to proceed to create and apply a map that will work with a multifaceted object? Thank you so much.
