This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

well I was originally thinking body in sub-d's and everything else in polys... but now I think I might do everything in sub-d's because it'll be so simple to get a good curve for for the wheel.

And I agree with both you and Hybrid on the 'cartoony' look. It's because I just slap a simple coloured material on the objects as I'm going. It'll get better later (fingers crossed user added image ).

And here's my wheel so far... I've even UV mapped and textured the rubber part.

Added some disk brakes and made the wheel not quite as wide.

I've remade the clamp in the disk brakes because the last one had a bit too much of a 'crud-factor' in it. I've also textured them up a bit.

As for the interior... I'd like to give it one (probably low poly) so that I can make the windows 'see-through'. I'd like to put the car in a short animation, and at the moment I'm thinking of making a low poly driver for this purpose (so the car doesn't look like it's being driven by a ghost.

anyway, here's a shot of the new brakes:

ummmm..... I've just noticed that the tires are not quite circular!!! I have no idea how that happened - I made it directly from the sphere primative!!! Looks like I might need to go back and fix that.

thanx

Everyone said that Melbourne has all 4 seasons in 1 day... I'm down on the south coast of WA in Albany now, and we get all 4 seasons in 6 hours!!! And the wind - WOW! But other than that and the fact that we've only got country TV stations now, it's not too bad user added image .

Well, it's Christmas and I'm about to drive 400km north for a couple of days.... so that means that I won't be posting any updates until I return. So thanks for the comments everyone, and I'll be back soon.
