mirroring problem

umm picture says it all
i try to mirror an object without merge checked and they still merge ?? :S

You should try using the edit > dublicate (scale=-1) instead. That will give you a new individual object. Also, you can make the new copy an instance, so if you do further model on one of them, it effects them both.

Ok,if you do decide to use the Mirror Geometry Tool,whats the easiest way to move the center pivot to the center of the single new object?

or just mirror and then select the faces of the other "side" and then in the shelf, Polygon shelf -> seperate
