Might consider checking out our tutorials first. Might find what you need for cheaper.

Go with what Mike said. I bought the Polygon 1 DVD from Gnomon and I can tell you from actual experience you will get more value here at SimplyMaya. I bought one because I had seen their ads everywhere and heard that they were well established.

I was rather disappointed in the quality as well. I couldn't read the interface like I can with the video tutorials here. And for $50 you can definitely get equal or greater value from free and VIP video tutorials here at SimplyMaya.

Where it's applicable, files are usually provided. I doubt they'll open in PLE... I would be surprised if the Gnomon files did, unless there's a work-around I'm not aware of.

NNY,
I got Mike's "Texturing in Photoshop" from SimplyPhotoshop.com, and that's an excellent starter for creating texture maps for Maya. It only costs two points. And you could read the interface.

Hmm, I would have to assume then, that they created PLE specific files.

I'm pretty sure you can open Maya Complete files in PLE - I dont see any reason why Alias would restrict that.

It just doesnt work the other way around (stops companies buying one copy of Complete for rendering and then distributing PLE to all it's artists).

That'll do donkey... that'll do...

ah, well, if that's the case, the files we have should work as well.
