Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Primitive creation

Hey guys I've been watching some online videos (I'm obviously a noob) and I keep seeing that people working in maya all they do is go to create and select which type of primitive, and ... for instance is a poly cube, and bam automatically get created in the center of the screen, but when I select primitive, I have to draw it, seem, and I can't seem to find a setting for this ... any ideas anyone?

Tnx in advance.

BTW: I'm on an intel Mac, running Maya 2009.

You have "interactive creation" on. Can't remember which menu it's in but I think it's in create, at the top. I think it has a tick next to it

create > interactive creation
