Help With Spas 12 model

Im working on one with a tutorial that was made for milkshape3d, all was going well till i hit the shoulder thing witch has little holes though it. I have no idea ho to accomplish this in maya.

Have you tried using booleans?

Thanks was looking for that, didn't now the name. Mapping programs just call it subtract user added image .
