Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Nice man!

But I actually meant how you got started with a project like this, like do you use image planes? I'd love to do a project like this but I have no idea how to start..

Richardvbr,
yaa man!now am got what you are coming to say, actually i started this project with image plane for block out,for measurement. why u can't start with this.? jus download the reference images and crop it with same sizes.! then import it to maya or some other softwares in three views(front, top, side) ..then u can start the basic block out of the mesh..! thank you man.! user added image

Dude nice design on the model....

you even made the letters from polys!! hahaha nice.

With this kind of model its always worth baring in mind the amount of loops in certain areas, as theres alot of close loops going on in that rounded area on the rear. It may be worth cleaning that area a bit. Just my ten pence

Cheers
Jay
