Hi everybody,

How can I prevent the Output Window from opening on my screen anytime I launch Maya 5.0?

I know this is quite a silly/unusual question, but I would like to avoid the bore of closing this window every single time I start Maya.

It only displays the following infos:

mental ray for Maya 5
mental ray: version 3.2.2.1, 27 Feb 2003
mental ray: compiled on: Windows_NT_4.0_x86

... so it's pretty useless!

P.S. Does this window appear on your desktops as well?

it is not only a maya 5.0 issue as i have that with maya 4.5 too - even when i dont load up mr every time i start maya. it is no use to close the window - as sometimes something does write to it - and it opens back up. the easiest way to get rid of it is to minimize it. then you just pretent it does not exist. whenever you render detailed results go to the output window (if you enabled that behaviour - not sure if it is enabled by default).
