This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

planar mapping and basic skinning

everytime i apply planar mapping i get black and white checker boxes even when i have applied my skin through a lambert file. is there some option i am missing? it makes it very difficult to position a skin correctly when you cant see it.

When you have planar mapped you usually then have to reassign the texture, even if you assigned it already (well I do I might be missing something). The check boxes just show you where it is going.
