Hypergraph etiquette

Group, pasted__group, group1, pasted__group1... I like using parent and unparent to organize my meshes in the hypergraph, but I also like deleting the aformentioned clutter. But my darn consience, I don't know what they are, so I know I probably shouldn't. Please someone tell me, what are they, and is it okay to delete them so I can have it be just the meshes? Speaking of that, why does the camera one have to be there? I know there's a camera, isn't there some way to remove it from the hypergraph?
