Explanation of how it was done.

Well the ring itself is quite old now. There wasn't really much to modelling the ring, it's just a taurus whose inputs were changed around a bit until i got hte desired shape. The letters are down with a displacement map to cut into the ring a little, and i used an incandesance map on them to make them glow like that. I had an older version of this ring posted on this forum long ago, but i just recently decided to add hdri to the scene so this is it with it reflecting that, and with the reflection blur in the mental ray node up a bit. Viola, the one ring of power. Hope you like it.
