Texturing a Nurbs Sphere

Hi Guys,

Am a newbee with maya and I've currently cames across using nurbs for the first time. The problem is that I just want to place a basic texture of an eye on to a nurbs sphere.
Has any one got any simple directions on how to do this.

tweak these colour settings so there is a black pupil a coloured iris and the rest is white
change type to U

u can but its a bit awkward with nurbs as im not that keen on them

the basic jist of it is u need to apply it onto the nurbs as projection and a bit of tweaking should do it but some of the guys here will b alble to tell u in much better detail.

if u made that on photoshop can u send me the psd file with layers as i tried it an it was crap as im a novice this would really help me thx
