Leather texture

ello,

what do you reckon would be the best method for creating a nice leather texture??

Using procedural or getting a real pic of leather and using that?

cheers

Procedurals if used well enough seem to work for almost any type of situation, however when realism is the key then I'd recommend to create textures tailored for the specifics of the model you'd put them on. (So real pics of leather would help quite a lot)

cheers for that adl, I think I will go with procedural for the time being, unless I can find a really nice leather texture pic.

tariq - thanks I have got the leather texture but don't know whether to use it for bump or colour or reflectivity or what - i am currently just using it on a black blin - as a bump
