Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Looks good, but I'm not 100% sure what it is... Id it part of the cockpit? Or a separate room/area of the ship?

Its still the cockpit mate, its the lower half without the seat and detail in.

Steve: thanks mate, you are too kind. Good news to hear, and to be honest you gotta start somewhere. Yeah must catchup soon.

Updates later

Ah, yeah, I see it. Sorry. Without all the chair and the details I kinda lost the scale... looked like a large room... almost like a bit of futuristic train track... user added image lol

holly jebus. This thread is still going strong. Nice works Jay. The ship is lovely job texturing, but I hope you dirty it up a bit; rust, peeling paint, darken the colors near the jet ( all the heat from the turbine surely should darken those areas and be burnt looking almost). My 2 cents. user added image

Hey Vlad

many thanks man. Yeah still going. Theres been a few developments with the whole project, which I will tell in time. Yeah the ships engines taper off at the back and theres plenty of soot there.

I think once I get in in the proper scenes and get some decent light and stuff in there it will pop for sure. As I said this was purely for a promo that I had on the other week.

hope all is well

Jay

really nice Jay, I like the shape too!! Not to rounded and not too squarish if you know what I mean.

Air breathers?? nah, Dark matter converters. Takes the dark matter, changes it to anti-matter which then excites the quarks in a semi physical state, producing mini-blackholes which warp space time 1 mm in front of the blades. This produces the void which drags the ship through normal space at greater than light speed, thus enabling wormholes to be breeched and infinite point travel to be achieved.

aaarrrrhhhhhhh another ale would be good now, my brain just blew a valve.

Are you going to add more ships and scene Jay?? sorry Im late in the thread.

Lookin bloody good though mate

cheers bullet

LOL yeah.

I finished a series last year for Discovery channel about Stephen Hawking (which is due out next month) and he talks of the use of anti matter to drive starships to lightspeeds and beyond time travel. Its actually a possible theory.

Though for this type of thing I dont worry too much with the technicalities of such theories, it is what it is and does what I want it to do LOL

good stuff. better late than never

cheers bullet
