Texturing Problem

Hi all. Im having some difficulties with Texturing in Maya 8.5.

Ive used Maya for around 4 years full time but havent managed to resolve this reoccuring problem.

Sometimes the textures (in the modelling window)applied to models all of a sudden dont appear correctly. The either display the wrong texture or no texture at all, yet the UV mapping is fine. But here is the unusual part. When i select the object the textures applied to that object sometimes swap about. The only way i have managed to resolve this is to reaply all the textures again or reopen the file until it fixes, this is around 20 times if it works. Sometime even having to restart my model again

I normally name the texture files and material name : "txt_texturename"

im not sure if this will effect anything

Thankyou for any help

did you delete history after applying your textures?

I didnt delete the history after applying the textures. Though i deleted the history to see if that would solve the problem. It did not.

Have a look at the maya hardware qualification charts, it might say that theres a glitch with those, as form what I can remembler there are a few with the fire cards.

Updating the drivers dont seem to help. Each time a reopen the file i seem to get different results with the textures. If i emailed you the file and textures would you be willing to have a look at it for me as i cant continue like this

cheers

Liam

that's weird. have you accidently created a duplicate of some of your models directly on top? what happens when you render? also, let's see a shot of your hypershade and shaders.

Hi. Ive tried the file on another computer and it still has the same problem so it shouldnt be my graphics card. Ill get a screen shot for you in a minute.
