Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Background history:
Sentenced to a century of toil in the Great Furnace after suffering defeat in battle to a brave warrior, Grinder has returned to wreak his revenge. His efforts fuellling the Underworld war engine have hardened him considerably and he took the opportunity to hone his combat skills via several battles with his
co-workers. Enjoyable as these little fights were, they couldn't satisfy his bloodlust..... in fact they increased it.
Sentence completed (he was released early for bad behaviour), Grinder is now free to pursue his goal: to hunt down and slaughter all the descendants of his former foe. Only then will his honour be restored and he can retake his place as a general in the underworld army.

I like the weapon, looks a little dull though. But very nice. I like the background history too.

I'm not happy with the way my guy is turning out. The mesh isn't as clean as I'd like it so I'm not going to add more detail. I think I'll finish out this challenge so I'll have the experience of building and animating a model.
Next challenge I will be better prepared.

By the way.....your model is it a nice work.......but in my honest opinion the guy who can model at this stage can model more so this work is unfinished for me.....

Yeah, I'm nearly finished the rigging, these are just a few test poses.
It would be cool if these characters could really fight it out.
Someone hurry up and write a game engine!

it would be pretty hard to write a game engine for this. Considering our charactors are probably rigged completely different. But it would be cool. But could your axe and strength stand up to new age super allows?
