Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I figure I might as well post a wip thread for this guy. He is not very good modelling wise, but I hope to get a good texture on him, as I have never textured anything before. Maybe he will look good eventually user added image

Oh, and it also has 75 non planar faces in the low poly version. Does that really matter, because the smoothing fixes all of that.

I have been trying to lay the uvs out all day with no luck....ARGHH!!!!!!!! this uv layout stuff aint as easy as it looks.

Uv layout is a art form all its own mate... Just takes time and practise.
