hair

Hi all,

I'm running 2008 compete and I have a polygon head which i would like to paint/attach hair to, is it true that you can only use paint effects on nurbs surfaces? If so is there any way of converting a polygon model to nurbs?

Thanks
David

No you can still use paint FX on polys, you will need to UV map the object first though.

Thanks I'm getting somewhere now, only thing is it seems to originate under the scalp so it comes out patchy, do you know if there is there a way to constrain it to the surface?

If you make another object, like a sphere, to represent the scalp, you can paint on this and then make it invisible, then you can have it as large or small as you want so the hair appears to be coming from the actual head geometry.
