Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

I like it, there are some details on the head but I guess they wond show on the figure anyway. Maybe you should give the snake more vicious eyes. user added image

Looking really impressive Mr.T !!user added image I would really like to see this one textured. My only complaint is that the serpent looks a little bare.

Thx for the comment marlonjohn.
It was very hard to delete the eyes. They were combined with the snake body. I don't have a smoothed version of the snake so i had to delete a LOT of polys. I'll post a render without the eyes soon.

ha ha - awesome work MrTerminator! I am really loving this entry. I might move your guy forward just a touch, but then again, having him close to the edge really adds to the tension. The only other thing that stands out for me at the moment is that the snake is looking a little thin where it wraps around and overlaps itself to the left of your image. Any chance we could see some more views as it might just be the angle. Also, what is the snake's tail doing?

any plans to add any more details in the remaining time?

good job mate! user added image

Yeah, it was just the angle and the rock.

I thought about making the tail touching the hero's foot user added image

maybe buying an art book about sketching heads or something might help as there are loads of basic geomotry rules about the head, like eyes are central, mouth typicaly extends to the start of the coloured part of the eye, etc, ofcourse these can then be modified slightly to help.
don't know if this was mentioned before as i didnt read the whole thing, i just looked at the pictures user added image
