Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Background Image

only just noticed this, and its rather annoying me
when i go to the cam attribute editor and the environment section i can map a background image (like a sky image of sumthing)
but when i use GI_Joe (using the HDRI fake as well if that helps) that backgroung mapping option is greyed out :S anyone know why? or if theres another way around it inside maya?

I normally just use a plane in the background or something, rather than a camera image plane.

hey mike, im talkin about an actual image that renders in the background behind ur scene, like you can choose the background colour with the slider in cam att editor, then nxt to the slider theres the map option which puts a picture in the background

and yes, im pretty sure its caused by GI_Joe user added image

Nope. It's normal behaviour. You need to create the image plane (the create button under the slider) and put the image there...
