Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

render reflection plane is visible

i am trying to do a render pass for my cg character. one for shadows and one for reflection so i would be able to compose it in nuke.

i created a plane and set it as background and put my character on top.

the problem is that the rendered reflection image has the plane included in the color and alpha channel.

wich does not happen with the shadow pass.

can anyone help me just to render the reflection without the plane.

thank you user added image

There should be an option in the planes attributes to set it to not render in the scene, that way you are just getting the reflection information. I dont have access to Maya right now so I cant check it out.
