An idea is delicate.
It can be killed by a sneer or yawn,
It can be stabbed to death by a joke
Or worried to death by a frown
On the right persons brow.

Look at all these new features:

1. Aqua UI (User Interface).

2. Quartz rendering for marking menus and hotboxes.

3. AppleScript support for MEL™ (Maya software’s scripting language).

4. QuickTime® implementation throughout the entire package, from file reading to direct output from our renders to QuickTime.

5. Maya is now a native Mach-O application compiled with X-code, the standard developer’s tools that Apple® includes with Mac OS X. This allows Maya plug-ins to be developed and compiled with X-code.

6. The native Maya software renderer is 20-50 percent faster than previous versions.

It looks very interesting and makes a change from that tired old Windaz interface user added image

it will be interesting to see if they do come out with a 64 bit version, or an optimized one. If it is compiled in x-code, like u say it is, then it should only take a few second to make it optimized. According to apple, when they released the g5 "it takes longer for x-code to open the file then to compile it for 64 bit"
This should be interesting.
