Circular Lattice fence HELP

I am panning on creating a yurt and I was wondering on the best way of creating the circular lattice fence.
I have used the lattice deform on the fence geomitry, and it seems to work ok, but is there a better way of going about this, as at both the ends the poles start tapering and the geomirty of each side of the fence starts intersecting. Please see screenshots user added image

I feel stupid now user added image That would make sense, but say it was going to be animated would you then use the lattice so it can fold up...?

I think you just need to key frame the curvature in the bend deformer...........dave

Edit:Just gave that a try and it works

Non-linear deformers such as bend are also in the animation menu set user added image But most people do use them for modelling.

Thanks for the responses.

With using the bend 'modifier' would you be able to collapse the fence (push together) as you would to transport it...? Sorry couldn't find a reference image to help explain.

Is there any difference between using bend from the deform menu set or the animation?
