Shattering Glass

the scene is a computer monitor whose glass pane gets blown outwards due to an explosion that occurs inside the actual monitor...

...i've gone about it all sorts of different ways such as applying a radial field to poly plane that i shattered...

...but i really can't seem to it right...

...any feedback...recommendations...or tutorials people know of would be REALLY helpful....im still new to dynamics and as of now i feel like im running blind. thanks alot.

-ps....if you would like to see the scene in progress i posted some screens on a previous post i made called "particle streak compositing"
