Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

The adventures of Trunky and/or Phantaphus

I think ill give this a shot, not sure entirely where Im going with this though but I have a few ideas (thinking of a Solid Snake spoof for the final image.)
From the name, you can probably guess it will be an elephant of some sort

i love cardboard boxes

reminds me of the conversation between snake and sigint

sigint: snake... where are you?
snake: in a box
sigint: a cardboard box?... why?
snake: well... when i saw it i suddenly had the urge to jump inside... no it was more than that.. it was destiny
signint: destiny..??
snake: not only that, but when i'm in here i get this feeling of inner peace...
sigint: ....
snake: you'll have to get in the box to know what i'm talking about
sigint: man... is everyone who's hooked up with the major other than me crazy? well... i guess even that dumb ol' box will come in handy for indoor camouflage

hmm... guess i'm starting to forget the last bits of that conversation...

nice texture mapping though. the side of the flaps need to be altered so that there aren't holes on each side..

so... what's with the box?

He means the corrugatedness (yeah, new word) would only end on one side of the flap. Not all three. Good eye chirone (no avatar pun intended), I didn't notice that.

bing bong! stwert knows what i meant to say...ish user added image

the corrugation on the box looks funky on the flaps

you've got the corrugation on the flaps going in two directions, or so says the side of the flaps

the box is following the blue lines that i graffittied (yeah i can't spell either) onto your box but the holes on the side of the flaps (circled in green) say you have the corrugation going in the other way too (the way the red lines are)

and yeah, i spotted the two MGS references on the box

unless TAOTGPE is one too? what's that mean?
